ELK WAH FUZZ by ELK. This is a vintage, made-in-Japan wah fuzz from the 1970s, a model that is now very difficult to obtain. This unit has a combined wah and fuzz structure, and is characterized by a wild tone and thick fuzz that are completely different from a regular wah pedal. It has a wide range when stepped on, and has a unique presence that cannot be replicated by current products. The enclosure is made of heavy metal. Judging from the rubber on the foot pedal, the switches, and the internal circuit board configuration, it is believed to have been manufactured in the early 70s. The internal components are discrete, producing a rough and three-dimensional tone that is different from modern IC-based units. I think the fuzz's sputtering sound is also a characteristic of vintage gear. Condition: - Scratches and wear on the exterior due to aging. - Original wiring and parts configuration inside (only the brown capacitor in the 9th photo has been replaced). - Sound output has been confirmed. - INST / OUT operation has been confirmed. ELK's WAH FUZZ is highly regarded both domestically and internationally, and this particular type is rarely available on the market. It is the same type used by Surprise Chef and Shintaro Sakamoto of Yura Yura Teikoku in live performances and recordings.
