This is a homemade violin mute. It reduces the sound during practice. It's larger than the Ottavo, a commercially available mute, so you can expect a greater sound-dampening effect. 【Features】 Not only does it provide a clear reduction in sound, but its effectiveness can also be confirmed numerically through spectrum analysis. It attenuates the 1000-6000Hz range, which is the source of noise harmonics, by 5-10dB, meaning the sound is less than half as loud. I always use this when practicing, but I'm surprised by the loud sound when I occasionally forget to put it on ^^ ARTINO and similar mutes that sit on the bridge have high sound-dampening effects, but they have drawbacks such as: ・The point of contact between the bow and strings is not visible when attached. ・The fundamental tone you want to hear during practice is inaudible. ・Since it only sits on the bridge, it can be dropped, or putting it in the case while attached can cause problems. ・It leaves marks and rubber stains on the bridge. ・It's heavy. I made this to overcome these issues. 【How to Attach】 Attach the two parts so they sandwich the bridge. It is secured with strong magnets, so when attaching it to the bridge, slide the smaller part from the side to avoid impacting the bridge. Basically, the side with the sticker should face the fingerboard. If the parts come into contact with the strings, you can almost always fix it by reversing the front and back. 【Important Notes】 The size of this product is approximately 42 x 21 x 5 mm and 56 x 26 x 5 mm. It should fit most 4/4 violins with a standard bridge height, but it may not be possible to attach it to fractional violins. If the height to the E string is insufficient, please consider the Ottavo, a different product. Please forgive any minor scratches from the manufacturing process.
