Grinding starts when the main switch is turned from "on" to "start," and it automatically stops when the powder accumulates in the doser. For personal use or when you want to grind one cup at a time, you can manually turn it off to grind only the amount you need. The exterior has scratches and marks mainly on the lower part (images 15-18), and there are linear scratches on the hopper lid (image 6).
