This is a jubako (tiered food container) that came with the osechi ryori (New Year's dishes) I ordered from the Japanese restaurant Tonden. I've used it about twice, and it has a luxurious black lacquer finish, so scratches and water stains are noticeable. I'm offering it to someone who doesn't mind these imperfections. It's useful for those who invite relatives over for the New Year, or when visiting your in-laws, or when bringing food to a potluck at a friend's house.
