This is the mark "Uzufuku" seen on works by Sakaida Kakiemon, a kiln of Arita-yaki. "Uzufuku" is a mark seen on old Imari sometsuke (blue and white porcelain), with the character "福" (fuku - good fortune) written inside a spiraling circle. The Kakiemon style is characterized by its milky white base and the use of warm colors such as red, yellow, green, blue, purple, and gold to depict flower and bird designs. There are some minor scratches on the bottom. Although no stains are visible on the surface, please check the photos carefully as this is a used item.
