This is a rare, hand-braided cord obi (袋帯), difficult to find. It was an item that caught everyone's eye at the exhibition. Even a major actress, a guest at the event, was captivated and reportedly hesitated over buying it. Most readily available braided obi on the market are made in China or machine-woven. This one is a masterpiece, crafted with care and time by Japanese artisans. I've heard it's very light and easy to tie. I hesitated for a long time before listing it, but I want to pass on its true quality to someone who appreciates it. The purchase price was close to 2.8 million yen.
