Brand new, authentic Canadian Army ROYAL CANADIAN AIR FORCE Real Mouton Aviator Jacket TYPE IV Official Name: JACKET, FLYING, TYPE IV VESTE D’AVIATEUR I purchased this from WAIPER but am selling it because the size didn't fit. This flight jacket, characterized by its high cold-weather protection and large collar, was developed for pilots and primarily adopted by the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) in the 1990s. Real mouton is lavishly used for the material of the rounded boa collar, and a hood with a drawcord is stored inside the collar when the zipper on the upper back is opened. The design features a zipper offset from the center like a double rider's jacket, running diagonally, and is equipped with a wind flap to prevent wind from entering. 100% wool is used for the interlining between the nylon and 50/50 cotton shell and lining to enhance cold protection and heat retention. Ribbed inner cuffs are provided on the inside of the sleeves to prevent wind from entering. Since there are no ribs at the hem, it is a short-length jacket that is easier to incorporate into fashion than a typical flight jacket. Adjustable with Velcro adjusters on the sides of the hem, this specification also contributes to the design. The utility pocket designed on the left sleeve has a three-dimensional detail with a gusset, and there are pockets with zipper closures on the front. Inner pockets are also provided on the left and right sides of the inside, so you can secure sufficient storage with just the jacket. Canadian Air Force items are rarely released, and unused deadstock is even rarer! This is a hard-to-find and rare next vintage item that you rarely see!
