VHS recording the recovery efforts after the Great Hanshin Earthquake. - Title: 146 Days of Battle for the Trains - Format: VHS - Running Time: 65 minutes This VHS tape is a complete record of the 146 days it took to fully restore service in June after the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake, which struck at 5:46 AM on January 17, 1995. The Hankyu Kobe Line from Nishinomiya-Kitaguchi to Kobe-Sannomiya, the Itami Line from Tsukaguchi to Itami, and the Koyo Line from Shukugawa to Koyoen suffered extensive damage. Includes footage of: * The 8000 series being transported by land from Shojaku Factory to Oji-koen. * Test runs of trains running simultaneously on the up and down tracks between Okamoto and Mikage, a very rare scene. * The removal of damaged vehicles between Itami and Sannomiya by crane. Scenes of the 5000 series being lifted by a large crane from the damaged Itami Station are recorded. * All about the 8200 series, reviewed on June 12th. * Close-up coverage of the farewell run of the 2800 series.
