However, when it came to practicing, I was concerned about the noise for my neighbors, so I tried practicing with towels over the drums. Eventually, I drifted away from the congas, and aside from occasionally playing them for about a month, they've mostly just sat in the corner of the room, becoming mere decoration. I feel bad for the congas, as the skins would have gradually become more familiar with playing, developing a unique and good sound for each conga. Therefore, they are in almost new condition. The skins are also in very good condition (I have a moderate understanding of skin condition and tone, as I was active in a semi-professional Japanese taiko drumming group for about 5 years when I was younger).
