The masterpiece sci-fi animated film "Roujin Z" was produced by a team including Katsuhiro Otomo (original work, screenplay, mechanical design), Hisashi Eguchi (character design), and Hiroyuki Kitakubo (director). Released in September 1991, the film received high acclaim, including the Animation Film Award at the Mainichi Film Awards that year, and continues to be popular both domestically and internationally. To commemorate the 30th anniversary of the film's release this year, the soundtrack album is being released on analog LP for the first time, with the latest remastering. The music is by the eccentric Fumi Itakura, who has led unique bands such as Chakra and Killing Time. The soundtrack, which incorporates industrial techno, ethnic, and contemporary music, and sometimes features bold processing and editing, has a charm independent of the film itself. The ending theme song is sung by Mishio Ogawa, a long-time friend from the Chakra days. The disc is clear red vinyl.
