This is a US Army M1943 field cap from the late period of World War II. The M1943 is a common name, and the official name is CAP, FIELD, COTTON, O.D., WITH VISOR. It is made of OD cotton and has earflaps that can be folded inside. There are two ventilation holes on each side. Due to the earflaps, smaller sizes may not fit, but this is a rare, larger size. The brim is wavy and shows fading and wear, but there are no holes or noticeable stains, giving it a good vintage feel that you can't get with a new item.
