Using silk thread and a thread called "twisted yarn," the fabric has fine "shibo" (crepe-like texture) on the surface. Many Western-style patterns were used, and it was used for a wide range of purposes, such as Komon (casual kimono) and Homongi (formal visiting kimono). Majolica Omeshi fascinated many people with its innovative design and the glamorous shine of the lame thread at the time.
