Thank you for viewing. This is a work by Kazuhiko Kudo. It's from the Shirakaba White series, which uses glaze made from locally sourced white birch from Asahikawa, Hokkaido. The work has a gentle color palette, yet also conveys a sense of strength. I think it would be suitable for various dishes, such as fruits and simmered foods. It's also a size that can be used as a donburi bowl. 〈 Shirakaba White 〉 Winter in Asahikawa is one of the coldest areas in Japan, with temperatures dropping to minus 30 degrees Celsius. It's said that the temperature and humidity inside the workshop are constantly controlled to prevent the clay from freezing. The result is a vessel that resembles a beautiful snowfield. The snowfield changes from blue to white, and from white to pink, depending on the sunlight. This work expresses the scenery of a beautiful snowfield. I purchased this from Harumi Kurihara's online shop. I have carefully stored it unused for a long time, but I have decided to put it up for sale this time.
