This yaen has also been tested and proven to catch fish. After trying various designs, we arrived at this shape! The FLAP Roller Yaen is specialized for catching squid. We focused on hooking squid reliably without giving them a sense of unease, and the result of subtracting unnecessary elements is this ultra-lightweight, one-touch roller yaen. The roller is a straight yaen made of PTFE (fluororesin) tubing. In my opinion, considering the risk of line trouble due to unexpected jumping upon water entry, which is common with flip-up yaen, I don't feel the need for a flip-up function! If the weight and balance are appropriate, it will always flip up (Head Up) upon arrival! In particular, my yaen has a FLAP that receives water pressure like an airplane wing, causing it to Head Up as soon as it arrives. Of course, it also Head Ups when you set the hook. Also, to accommodate 20cm size horse mackerel, we have made the distance from the first fulcrum to the tip approximately 20cm, and we have also changed the hook to size L. If you hold the horse mackerel vertically, it will hook in the mouth with a high probability. The first fulcrum roller is 2mm in diameter, so a yaen stopper can also be used. During the prototype stage, I had several friends try it out, and they reported that they felt like they were hooking the squid "as soon as it arrived."
