These are handmade, woodblock-printed stuffed animals from Shinkogei. They are made using a unique technique developed in a workshop in Hida-Takayama. The designs are printed onto plain, unbleached cotton using Hida woodblock prints, and then steamed at high temperatures to set the colors. The stuffing is made of husks, and each piece is finished with hand-stitching.
