This is a Yamaha YCL-81 clarinet, an early custom model. It's in beautiful condition for a used instrument. The grenadilla wood has a beautiful, high-quality shine. The bore seems to be on the narrower side. The air is focused, and it resonates wonderfully in the lower joint. This model was made shortly after Yamaha began releasing professional models to compete with Buffet Crampon and Selmer, and you can feel their ambition. I'm even considering keeping it.
