This is an old Imari soba choko (noodle cup) from the mid-Edo period. Upon inspection, I found no chips or cracks. There is surface crazing (seal) less than 1cm from the rim. (It does not go through to the inside.) There is a small silver repair on the rim. The slightly recessed areas are glazed. Because it was fired once (nama-gake), there are fine air bubbles throughout the surface and bottom. It features a lucky design of pine and plum trees extending horizontally on bamboo. It is small and lovely. As it is a handmade, old ceramic, it is not perfect, unlike modern industrial products. Please understand this beforehand.
