This is a beige obi (sash) with embroidery of what appears to be camellia-like flowers in orange-red and pink. The reverse side is plain beige. It was stored in a paper wrapping (tatoushi) in a paulownia chest, so there is no visible mold or stains. However, it seems to have been used to some extent, so there are some wrinkles. The otaiko (back) and front pattern areas appear to be in good condition. The front pattern is symmetrical, so the design will appear the same regardless of whether it's tied in the Kanto or Kansai style. I inherited this obi from my grandmother, so I don't know the details, but it is very soft and easy to tie. However, there are no tags from when it was purchased, so I don't have any further information. I hope someone can make use of it. It will be removed from the paper wrapping, waterproofed with plastic, and then shipped.
