This is a Renkin Bungo-roku Wan (lacquered bowl) by Kadoshiro Izaburo. He has now passed away, making this a very valuable piece. The Renkin (alchemy) work of this period used an extravagant amount of precious gold, and this particular bowl features a bold design drawn with the fingers. It is truly a breathtaking masterpiece.
