It appears to have been purchased over 25 years ago. As other sellers have noted, it seems to be ink manufactured in China at the request of Tomioka Tessai. There appear to be design changes around the time of the Chinese Cultural Revolution, and I have referenced similar items listed. It is wrapped in yellowish paper instead of a plastic bag.
