The tip is the original tip, and I have sanded it once to improve chalk adhesion, but I have not used any sandpaper or the like on the shaft itself. The butt has almost no scratches, as I used a silk grip on it. It can be considered a beautiful item. An ADAM-specific joint cap is also included.
