Carpets woven in Arak are manufactured using traditional Persian techniques. It all began in the 1870s when a British company called Zeigler started producing them for the European market. Many of the motifs are inspired by Persian carpets, and high-quality wool and natural plant dyes are used. Wool is a natural textile fiber and one of the most indispensable materials in rug manufacturing. Wool rugs are extremely durable and can perfectly withstand daily friction and wear. They also have the characteristic of naturally repelling dirt, making them easy to keep clean. Due to their flame-retardant properties, the pile of the rug is maintained upwards, always retaining its initial shape.
