This is a black persimmon cased Junghans grandfather clock from Germany. The size is 87 cm tall and 29 cm wide. It's a case made of black persimmon, which was used in high-end models at the time. This model has a deep, rich grain of black persimmon, and is in good condition. The dial is enamel. There are no chips or cracks. It has the original "J" mark. Techniques such as finger jointing, lacquer work, wood carving, and wood turning are incorporated, making it a finely crafted model. It has a beautiful tone, chiming on the hour and once at the half-hour, with a sound reminiscent of European churches and temples. It is very powerful. Made in the Meiji era.
