This is a Cambodian silk kasuri fabric, handwoven by women in a rural village near Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The dyes are all derived from plants harvested in the village. The kasuri patterns have been passed down through generations of women. This fabric is made over a long period of time, meticulously tying and dyeing the threads to create the intricate kasuri patterns. I purchased it directly from the artisans in Cambodia and have been storing it at home. I am offering it for sale in the hopes that someone will enjoy using it. It would be lovely as a decorative cloth as is, or it could be made into a hanhaba obi (half-width obi sash).
