The blade is 14.5cm long, so it does not require registration with the authorities. The overall length is 30cm when sheathed. This is an antique, authentic Japanese short sword made of tamahagane steel. The scabbard is made with authentic lacquer. The gold habaki (blade collar) provides a nice accent. The hamon (blade pattern) is visible throughout, and you can enjoy discovering various patterns as you care for it. It has the high artistic value unique to ancient Japanese swords. You can disassemble everything by removing the small black mekugi (peg), making it easy to care for the blade. To prevent rust, occasionally apply oil with a paper towel. Daiso's all-purpose oil or general sewing machine oil will work fine. I am very fond of this item, but I need cash for personal reasons, so I have decided to sell it.
