His father was the famous Uruguayan painter, Raúl Roux. He studied at the Buenos Aires School of Fine Arts until 1948, and in 1956, he went to Rome and worked as an assistant in the workshop of Umberto Nonni, restoring and decorating. Roux is known for his watercolors, collages, frescoes, and prints, and he created surrealist paintings in various media. His works are said to encourage a contemplative state in the viewer. He was selected as a distinguished citizen of Buenos Aires in 2007 and passed away on November 28, 2021, at the age of 92. His works have been exhibited in retrospective exhibitions in various locations, including the Phillips Collection in Washington D.C., the National Museum of Decorative Arts in Buenos Aires, and the National Gallery in Berlin. He has also received numerous honors, including an award at the 13th São Paulo Art Biennial in 1975 and the prestigious Konex Award in Argentina in 1982.
