I've combined an obi-dome (sash clip) and pendant top with a vinyl cord chain, making it usable for both Japanese and Western attire. - Colors: Red, Black, Gray, Aurora - Material: Wood - Design: Floral patterns, crests, diamond-shaped floral patterns - Decoration: Mother-of-pearl inlay, lacquer, red coral, natural shell pearl pendant - Shape: Rectangular Sizes, approximately, cm *Obi-dome Length…2.2 Width…4 Cord passage…1.1 Although not visible when worn, there is some adhesive protruding from the metal fittings on the back (shown in photo 13). *Obi-dome necklace, with adjuster Length…38〜43.5 *Genuine shell pearl pendant, with adjuster Pearl size…1.2 Pendant length…45.5〜51 New and unused, obtained from the manufacturer. As shown in photos 11 and 14, it has a large gray bead with peacock-like aurora coloring, which I think goes well with the mother-of-pearl inlay's shine. The red coral connecting parts also match the red lacquer well. According to the original owner, the obi-dome has "mother-of-pearl inlay in the center, Showa-era Tsugaru lacquerware." Upon investigation, the mother-of-pearl pattern is a diamond-shaped floral pattern or a stylized diamond-shaped floral pattern. As a continuous pattern, it was seen in the elegant court attire and furnishings of the Heian period, and as a crest, it was the family crest (specifically, a variant crest) of the Takeda clan of Kai, and also the divine crest of Sumiyoshi Taisha Shrine in Osaka. Knowing this origin makes me want to pair it with an Inden (leather) cord, but I don't have one on hand, so I gently placed it on top of an Inden bag (photo 16).
