This is the body of a Fender Japan ST-456. It's a model from the 80s, made by Fujigen, and I believe the material is alder. It has been refinished in a semi-gloss yellow. There are some dents and areas where the finish has become glossy due to use. Because it's a thin lacquer finish, there are some dents. Because it was assembled before the paint was completely cured, there are areas where the paint has pooled, trapping dust, and areas where marks have been left by the pickguard's shielding. There is stand burn on the end. It originally had an 8-hole pickguard, but I prefer 11-hole, so I filled the holes before refinishing and drilled new holes for an 11-hole pickguard. The screw holes for the back panel were misaligned from the beginning. Copper foil shielding has been applied for noise reduction.
