This is a so-called Yoshino-nuri (Yoshino lacquerware) bowl. It's a piece with an elegant hibiscus design in vermilion lacquer on a base of aged black lacquer. It has a refined appearance that evokes the aesthetic sense of the Middle Ages. There are some scratches, slight fading, and minor imperfections. The size is 14 cm in diameter and 8 cm in height.
