This is from Arita during the late Edo period. There are about four repairs on the rim, and some repairs to cracks. The crack repairs are slightly faded. I believe it was originally a mukouzuke (small bowl), but it can be used as a matcha bowl. It is an elegant item. There is no "naki" (sound when tapped). I think it's a rare item. It can also be used as a chabako chawan (tea caddy bowl) or a travel tea bowl. There is a slight raised area of iron content, which is also appealing.
