Pearl Steel Snare 14×3.5 This is a steel shell piccolo snare drum, likely manufactured in the 1990s. I purchased it as dead stock about 20 years ago. I've used it occasionally, and it's in excellent condition with almost no rust, dirt, dents, or scratches. It's not new, of course. I used it occasionally for studio practice. It has the open sound characteristic of piccolo snares and excels at high-pitched tuning. The steel produces a bright sound, but being a piccolo, it's not overly loud, and you can play it without muting. It adapts well to various tunings and can be used as a main snare, not just a sub-snare. The heads have been on for a while, so I recommend replacing them. It pairs exceptionally well with coated heads. It comes with a TAMA soft case, but it's a standard snare case, so it's a bit loose. I'd like to sell it to someone who will cherish this vintage Japanese-made instrument. The price is negotiable.
