The motif is a gorgeous spring Nanakusa (seven herbs of spring) maki-e (sprinkled picture). The daikon radish and turnip are depicted in an outstanding maki-e with a high relief. This is a set of a superb spring Nanakusa maki-e tray and bowls. The tray has a nashiji (pear skin) finish on the back, making it sturdy. The bowls also feature Nanakusa maki-e. Dandelions are painted on the inside of the lids, and delicate maki-e is also drawn on the outside. ○Size Tray: 27.5 cm per side, 3.5 cm high Bowl: 11.8 cm in diameter, 5.8 cm high (approx. 8.7 cm with lid) Condition The tray has some paint peeling and minor scratches on the legs.
