Maxon SD9 Sonic Distortion MOD version is for sale. After collecting and comparing parts and sounds from all eras, from vintage to current models, and recording the component values, this modification is the result of two and a half years of work. The modification concept is to combine the best aspects of vintage models, which sound good but lack power, and current models, which have power but sound thin. Based on a current model, I aimed for a powerful sound with more depth, dimension, and thickness than vintage models, without altering the circuit. (4) 22 types of vintage solder were tested and carefully selected. ----------------------------------------------- This ver.10 uses solder from WENSLEY METAL, USA, from the 1940s to 1950s. The alloy ratio is sn50 / pb50. It has a high-fidelity sound with a biting, raw feel. It is very similar to ver.8 and 9, but ver.10 takes the best aspects of both. The feeling that every nuance of the left-hand touch and picking comes out as sound is common to ver.8, 9, and 10. Ver.8, 9, and 10 use very expensive solder, all costing over 30,000 yen per meter!
