This is a tetsubin (iron kettle). You can boil water directly over a flame. Also recommended for tea ceremony practice. The size is difficult to measure due to the shape, so please check the images. It can make about 3 servings of matcha. As you can see, both the outside and inside are quite rusty. I was using it in this condition until recently, so I don't think it's unusable, but if you don't like rust, it's better not to buy it. If you don't use it for a while, it will taste metallic, in which case you can make it drinkable by putting green tea in a filter and boiling it 2-3 times. Also, since it is small, the handle tends to get hot. When using a gas stove, use the smallest burner and remove it from the heat as soon as it boils so you can hold it with your bare hands, but if the flame is too large, the handle will get hot, so you will need a mitt.
