The diamond-shaped ♢◇ antique hand-knitted (needle) linen lace appliqués and Valenciennes lace edging are delicate and lovely. On a sheer, smooth cotton lawn, it's as if you're gazing at falling snow and snowflakes, with large, medium, and small diamond motifs of linen thread carefully sewn on. A lyrical, poetic style. The design is created by sewing two long, narrow runners together in the center. Gathering is done at the two corners, and the lace on the short sides is sewn together like a papillon…⋈, a butterfly or ribbon, which is cute. A very subtle antique ivory, nuanced ecru, with a hint of sepia and yellow. The sheer base fabric woven with extremely fine threads is presumed to be cotton. Linen or silk may be mixed in. It's a light, soft, and smooth beautiful fabric. Please forgive the following amateur measurements, which may have some errors due to the handmade nature of the item.
