I was concerned that my ankles would get cold and the opening would become slightly loose when wearing Utsubo socks, so I added ribbing. The double-layered ankles are not only warm, but the ribbed ankle part holds the mouth of the Utsubo, so it doesn't constrict but is less likely to slip off, fitting comfortably.
