This is a sample product. It's tape to prevent the edges of the faceplate from curling up. As indicated on the instruction sheet in the image, it appears to be made of the same material as the faceplate. The edge of the tape stuck to the plastic bag it was packaged in during storage, and it has torn slightly. I apologize, but please consider this when making your purchase.
