This is a Satsuma ware vase purchased at an antique market. According to the shop owner, it is a "returned Satsuma" vase. They believe it dates back to around the Meiji era. Please consider this information as a reference only. The difference in style between the front and back is interesting, which is why I brought it home. The front features a person wearing armor and a helmet, with a very flashy appearance. The two figures beside him may be attendants. It's very gorgeous. On the other hand, the back appears more subdued compared to the front, but it's still very beautiful on its own. It seems to depict the person from the front dancing. There is a mark. It looks like "toyo" in hiragana. The rim appears to be cracked and chipped. The damage has been smoothed and retouched with gold. There are some chips on the foot. There is a small hole in the helmet area, which may be a kiln mark. Please examine the other details in the images.
