The silhouette is wide, but with a gentle, not-too-tight taper. The pleats provide room around the hips. The thick fabric provides a sense of security even in winter. The waist has belt loops, and the front has a slightly unique design, so it looks great tucked in without a belt. The fly is button fly, with a hook at the top. I loved the very cool, straight silhouette. I have too many clothes, and I only wore these about twice during one winter season. There is no sign of wear, but I am sadly selling them because they no longer fit.
