I made a dress from a new wool bolt of fabric. The base is navy fabric with a rare patchwork pattern like Tsumugi (pongee). Although it's wool, the fabric is smooth. It can be worn all seasons. The front and back are the same pattern, so you can wear either side as the front, as shown in the first and second photos.
