This is a table center made by upcycling a used, genuine silk (正絹) fukuro obi (袋帯). The obi is in beautiful condition with almost no signs of wear. As shown in the last photo, it is labeled "Jidai Matsuri no Zu" (Picture of the Jidai Festival) and "Kuhyaku Orinishiki" (900 Weave Brocade). The design depicts the Jidai Festival woven on a shimmering gold background. This is a rare and exceptional piece. As you can see in the photos, the patterns are mirrored, allowing you to enjoy the design facing each other.
