This is a very fine piece, a Chinese natural stone, possibly Zhaohe Green Stone? It's a beautiful work with a pale green base on the inkstone. While I can't say for certain, stones of this color are not often seen, so it's likely a Zhaohe Green Stone inkstone. The piece is slightly oval, with a natural, rough-hewn finish on the back, leaving chisel marks. I believe this is a truly exceptional item.
