[Content] The protagonist is Kenshiro Kasumi, the successor of Hokuto Shinken. He is the predecessor of Kenshiro, the protagonist of "Fist of the North Star," by two generations, and a blood relation to Kenshiro was suggested, but this was never clearly revealed until the end of Part 1. The setting is mainly Shanghai around 1935. Taking into account the situation in China at the time, where many foreign powers including Japan were involved, the appearance of characters from various social positions and real-life figures is one of the major differences from "Fist of the North Star," which is set in a simplified world where civilization and order have collapsed due to nuclear war. On the other hand, because of the emphasis on contact and dialogue between these characters, there are fewer scenes of fighting using Hokuto Shinken compared to "Fist of the North Star."
