This is a lion-lid, three-legged incense burner from Takaoka Copperware. The design is inspired by China, but it is made in Japan. Takaoka Copperware is a general term for copperware made in Takaoka City, Toyama Prefecture. It is Japan's only production area for copper castings and is a world-renowned traditional craft with a history of about 400 years. This incense burner is from Hiramatsu Copperware. I inherited it from my grandmother, but I decided to put it up for sale because I thought it would be better if it went to someone who appreciates it. I don't think there are any noticeable scratches or stains, but please check the photos for the condition.
