This is made from shavings of the red part of Japanese cypress (hinoki) branches. It's 100% Tenryu hinoki, a type of Japanese cypress, from Japan. I handle this every day for work, so I'll send you freshly shaved chips. Hinoki is said to have insect repellent and deodorizing effects. At home, we use it in shoe cabinets, closets, and toilets as a substitute for deodorizers. Alternatively, you can put it in tea bags and float them in the bath to enjoy the hinoki fragrance, use it as kindling for barbecues, or as bedding for small animals. The uses are up to you.
