All three pieces show signs of use, with scratches, dirt, and some rust, but I believe they can still be used actively. (*^^*) The grips are plastic-coated for easy handling, and of course, there are dents and scratches from use. All three are Knipex, so the usability is outstanding. How about this for those who want to have the basic 3 tools: pliers, nippers, and combination pliers? Recently, I haven't used them much, and they have been stored in my toolbox.
