A large, revolving hors d'oeuvre dish. The lid, with its striking contrast of black and red, is likely what is called Yoshino-nuri. The round lacquerware in the center has gold inlay, giving it an elegant and gorgeous feel. I believe it is an old item, but it rotates without any problems, and there are no cracks or chips. Aside from scratches on the ceramic plates where they touch the lacquerware, and scratches on the bottom, I think it is in very good condition. The back is marked "Heian-do zo," but I don't know if it is Yamada Heian-do. It appears to have been purchased at Isetan for ¥30,000 over 50 years ago. The original box and cloth have age-related scratches and stains.
