This DVD captures the 2009 summer Japan tour held to commemorate the release of "C'est La Dernière Chanson," the second album from K, following the long-selling "Other Capes." "C'est La Dernière Chanson" was recorded in Cherbourg, France, in the "First Sight Project" style, based on the vast number of songs composed by Kudo between 2005 and 2007. The first layer offers "an experience akin to viewing sketches one by one in a museum," with a concept of 10-second intervals between songs, featuring an astonishing collection of extremely short pieces across 177 tracks on a 2-CD set. The DVD includes the entire Tokyo performance, which is already hailed as legendary, with the album's recording players and Bill Wells participating to recreate the songs in the original order, as well as rehearsal footage from the previous day. The second layer includes the Nagoya performance, which was the most unconventional and thrilling stage with members of John's Sun, and the Kyoto stage, which featured numerous string and keyboard players, including members of SJQ, and presented an ensemble completely different from Tokyo. Furthermore, both performances allow you to enjoy Kudo's piano, which was not performed in Tokyo. This video work captures not only Fuyuri Kudo's immense talent as a composer/performer but also the characteristics of Maher, a unit whose members are constantly fluid.
