The lids help to keep the contents warm, making them suitable for steamed dishes, simmered dishes, and more. They're also cute for making pudding! Microwave and oven safe. However, the lid handles are made of rattan, so please remove the lids when using in the oven. These are likely to be used more often in the coming season. These were received as a wedding favor from Matsuya Salon. Since I already had similar items, these have been stored in a dark place at home without ever being used.
