This is a unique, cool-to-the-touch knit fabric made in Wakayama Prefecture using Mino Washi, an expensive type of washi (Japanese paper) made from eco-friendly, biodegradable materials that have been used in Japan since ancient times. It offers a refreshing feel that cotton cannot replicate. Washi, like linen, provides a cool sensation. However, compared to cotton and linen, it is exceptionally lightweight and has excellent moisture absorption and release properties. In ancient Japan, it was considered a high-quality material, alongside silk. Due to the high cost of the yarn compared to linen, it is rarely seen as fabric or products in the market. Washing is the same as regular cotton. The knit fabric is stretchy and wrinkle-resistant, with a moderate thickness, making it easy to use in any season.
